Tourmaline w/ gemstone - SOLD

MMB-578 - Purple lepidolite accents the rich pink and olive green hues of this especially gemmy tourmaline from the famous Himalaya Mine. The specimen is doubly-terminated and damage free, aside from the expertly done repair to reattach the two pieces nature tore asunder. Paired with the specimen is a gorgeous bi-color gemstone (10.22) with a fantasy cut that adds visual impact and appeal to the display. Custom lucite base

MMB-576 - Several lustrous, golden yellow selenite twins radiate from a ball of smaller selenite crystals in this very aesthetic, affordable cabinet specimen. Drawn from the clay of the Red River in Winnipeg years ago, these specimens rarely make it to the market in any quality. Superb!

Magnesite - $2500

MMB-568 - A study in contrasts, this stunning cluster of magnesite crystals has lustrous, triangular "windows" counterposed with frosted faces. Each of the windows provides a view into the interior of the crystals and the hematite inclusions that add a color contrast to the clear magnesite. Rhombohedral crystals add additonal variety of form. This piece is one of 5 or 6 of its kind that came to market a few years ago, and it is clearly one of the best of the group. Custom lucite base.

MMB-565 - Two totally transparent purple scapolite crystals perch on contrasting white marble in this lovely miniature from Afghanistan. The largest of the lightly striated crystals measures 2.4 cm. Only the smaller crystal has been re-attached to the matrix. Crystals of this quality are quite difficult to find.

MMB-585 - Glassy calcite crystals included by turquoise-colored aurichalcite formed along the sides of a stalagmite in a small cabinet specimen from Ojuela. Displays well from multiple angles.

MMB-588 - Multiple root-beer colored barite crystals to 5.7 cm rise from a matrix with yellow calcite crystals. Lustrous and very transparent, barite specimens from Elk Creek rank among the world's best and most recognized. This specimen was among the fine barites from Elk Creek displayed at Tucson in 2008 for the American Mineral Treasures exhibit. Custom lucite base.

MMB-583 - Showing a rich, cherry-red color and the habit that made rhodochrosites from N'Chwaning famous, this specimen has serious gem value apart from its worth as a specimen. The crystal on the left side is cleaved, hence the price. Paired with a gemstone, this piece would make a superb rough & cut display.

MMB-580 - Several purple tourmaline crystals are partially included in a splendid, lustrous "floater" crystal of quartz. The lightly striated, lustrous faces of the quartz and the intricacies of its form make this a joy to hold in the hand and admire.

Spodumene "bi-color" - SOLD

MMB-573 - Though etched spodumene crystals are not rare, bi-color specimens with unusual forms are highly sought after by collectors. This piece features a lilac base transitioning to a light golden yellow. Characteristic triangular etch patterns add an appealing texture.

Hematite with Quartz - $1250

MMB-571 - Mirror-bright hematite crystals are accompanied by quartz crystals that have grown around some of the hematite blades, making for a very attractive miniature specimen. The geometric patterns of the hematite find their parallel in diamond-shaped features on the surface of the middle quartz crystal. Two gemmy magnesite rhombs add a third shape and texture.
